WORLD BOOK DAY
A great first week back!
Well done to year 5 who have had a great first week back. For our topic this half term we shall be looking at World War 2. We can’t wait to see all the fantastic work the children come up with over the next few weeks.

People at the Gurdwara are volunteers. They cook and serve food to people who visit. Anyone is welcome at the Gurdwara.

We took a food donation box to the Gurdwara as a ‘thank you’ gesture. We were told that all ingredients would go in to making the next meal there.

Enjoying our adventure at the Sikh place of worship. We all wore a headscarf during our visit, as a sign of respect.
Year 5 Sikh Gurdwara visit
Well done Year 5 for excellent behaviour and enthusiasm for learning, while exploring the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick. Not only did you ask and answer some thoughtful questions, but you also developed your understanding of what it means to be part of the Sikh community. We had a tour of the building and got the chance to try Langar- the free, vegetarian meal given to anyone who comes to the Gurdwara. What a lovely welcome we had.
Parents, thank you for your kind food donations. Our tour guide was very appreciative and spoke highly of your children, their lovely manners and their thirst for learning.
Your teachers are very proud of you all.
